Farm Grünental
Placed at an altitude at about 1400m above sea level and 150km due east of the capital city Windhoek, lies the 23000ha Grünental ranch. Grünental meaning “green valley” is especially true during and after the rainy season. The vegetation ranges from wooded grassland to dense Acacia thickets making stalking very exciting. The dry riverbed of the White Nossob runs through the property adding another dimension to the scenery. Numerous pans fill with water in the rainy seasons. Temperatures in winter (May-July) can reach sub-zero temperatures but tend to warm up quickly during the sunny winter days.
Hunting on Grünental is done by walk & stalk or from a hide. Before dawn a healthy breakfast is served and during the heat of the day, one can chose between having lunch back at the ranch or some sandwiches out in the bush. Shooting distances are seldom further than 150m as shots are mostly taken off shooting sticks and the closer you get the higher the excitement.
In the evenings after an obligatory sundowner in the “lapa” a dinner is served in a german-namibian cuisine involving various game dishes.
After relaxing and letting the days experiences settle down a good night´s rest is called for, in one of five spacious guestrooms.
Farm Grünental is a registered member of the Seeis conservancy with the aim of sustainable utilisation and pooled natural resources.
